City of London Police Assault Woman For Arguing During Detention
The following post and accompanying video were shared with the CopBlock Network by Marcus Potter, who has submitted numerous other videos to the CopBlock Network, as well. It was shared via the CopBlock Submissions Page. Within this post Marcus discusses the video he submitted, which shows an interaction between an unidentified woman and several City of London Police Officers. At the conclusion of the this interaction one of those officers, Police Constable Janice Albon, unnecessarily assaults the woman, presumably because she had argued with them.

On the 16th of July 2016, shortly after my encounter with Metropolitan Police officers in Shoreditch, London, I walked down the road to the City of London and saw some police officers interacting with members of the public outside a Marks And Spencer store. I approached and from a safe distance began to video record a male police officer talking to a male member of the public, who was standing next to him, and a female police officer, Police Constable 390 Janice Albon, who was talking to another member of the public seated on the floor.
I informed Albon that I was recording and I was asked several times to switch off the camera, as she was dealing with an incident. The other officer present gave her a high visibility jacket to keep her warm before going back to speak to the man that he was speaking to earlier.
After some time another officer, Police Constable Colstall got out of his car and approached me. Colstall asked if I was alright on two occasions, to which I replied that I was. He also asked if he could do anything for me, to which I replied that I didn’t need his assistance. He had a look at my phone from behind and could see what I see filming.
He then began observing Albon, who was interacting with the woman seated on the floor, and eventually interacted with her himself. He took away her high visibility jacket and said that she was free to go. At this point the woman was assaulted by Albon and pushed away by her as she rushed back into her car knowing full well that she was in the wrong. Both of her colleagues also quickly joined her, at which point Colstall drove away.
