LuminessAir Reviews & Help – We all wear makeup for different reasons. For some of us, we love the way it makes us look and feel giving us flawless coverage. For others, we have uneven skin tones that need to be balanced out with different colors. Or maybe you have sun damage or acne scars that you want to cover up?
But no matter the reason you choose to wear makeup, we can pretty much guarantee you’re not wearing it to look any older. Right?
But if we’re being that brutally honest friend that you know and love, we have to tell you that some of the makeup tricks you are using are in fact making you look older.
Here are some of the most common makeup mistakes that can age you:
Wearing too much makeup. The most common way people age themselves when it comes to makeup is applying too much (particularly foundation). This caked on and heavy look will allow the makeup to settle in your fine lines and wrinkles and exaggerate them. The best solution to fight this is to either not use a lot of foundation, or try switching to airbrush cosmetics, which is a fine mist of makeup that goes over your skin, rather that gathering in those lines and crow’s feet, for example.
Too much undereye concealer. It doesn’t matter how dark the circles are under your eyes, don’t overuse so much concealer so that it looks caked on and adds extra shadows. Too much concealer will also draw attention to those fine lines you are trying to make less noticeable.
Wearing the wrong shades.
Again, this can age you, so make sure you are getting a proper color match. With airbrush foundations, you can easily mix shades to get your exact skin match. But a good rule of thumb is to make sure you have a different color foundation for the summer and the winter. Applying less in the winter won’t do the trick, because your summer foundation shade will still be too dark and make you look older. Your foundation should match your face and your neck.
Blush can often go wrong, really wrong.
No matter your age, there is no need to apply clown makeup. You want blush to be applied to the apples of your cheeks, but doing it so that it blends with the rest of your skin. Your cheeks should look rosy, not bright red.
Dark lipstick.
Choosing a darker lipstick than your skin tone can handle will make you look older, too. If you do want a darker color that is on trend for the season, try adding a glosser or shimmer overtop so it doesn’t look as dull and flat. The more vibrant your lips look, the more vibrant your skin will look too. Bright lipsticks will make your face and mouth look fuller, which is most certainly a younger-looking attribute that you want on your side.
Metallic and dark eye shadows.
Unfortunately, much like the rest of your face, your eyelids will start to create lines and creases and a dark or metallic eye shadow will settle in those creases and make your eyes look older. Instead, try lighter colors or a matte finish to help give the appearance of taut eyelids.
Keep your eyebrows filled in.
As you get older, one of the first things that tends to fade away are your eyebrows. Be sure to keep them dark and filled in, but keep them looking natural at the same time.
