A new WikiLeaks release of stolen emails belonging to Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta reveal an invitation by his brother to a “Spirit Cooking dinner” at the home of artist Marina Abramovic.
According to the Telegraph, Marina Abramovic is one of the most exciting contemporary artists in the world, yet she doesn’t make “art” in the traditional sense of the word. Take her 1975 work, Lips of Thomas, which she devised and performed in a gallery in Austria in 1975. Stark naked, she ate a kilo of honey, drank a litre of red wine, carved a pentagram onto her stomach using a razor blade, whipped herself, and lay down on a cross made of ice for half an hour, bleeding copiously.
