‘Voting is a primary way for Christians to stop evil’

Pastors Jeffress and Gallups speak out before election!
Watch Pastor Carl Gallups on TV appearance …

It’s a question which could decide the 2016 election: Will evangelical Christians turn out for Trump?

Well known evangelical pastor Robert Jeffress is issuing a call to arms for believers to storm the polls and support Donald Trump.

He contends Christians should not use their conscience as a reason to opt out of voting. Instead, he says a Christian’s “conscience” should drive him or her the voting booth to back the Republican nominee.

“Voting is a primary way for Christians to stop evil,” he said. “In the last presidential debate, Trump articulated the clearest defense of the pro-life position of any Republican presidential nominee in history including Romney, McCain, either of the Bushes, or Ronald Reagan. By contrast, Hillary Clinton has pledged to nominate justices who will uphold Roe v. Wade.”

The turnout of evangelicals is expected to be critical Tuesday. Some analysts believe an absence of Christian voters contributed to Mitt Romney’s defeat in 2012.

And the implications for believers go beyond abortion. Jeffress said religious liberty itself is at stake in this election, as well as the Supreme Court. And he urged Christians to remember they are supporting policies, not personalities.

“There are no perfect politicians – just as there are no perfect pastors or voters,” he said. “We are all sinners in need of a savior. But the fallibility of both candidates in this election – as in every election – is no excuse for not voting.”

Most Christian leaders have continued to back Trump despite the candidate’s comments about women in leaked recordings. The need to stop Hillary Clinton and save the Supreme Court has united evangelical leaders who might otherwise be uncomfortable supporting Trump.

Pastor Carl Gallups, author of several books including his latest eschatological sensation “When the Lion Roars: Understanding the Implications of Ancient Prophecies for Our Time,” has been an enthusiastic backer of Trump since the primaries. He has made similar arguments during the election.

“The stakes have never been higher for our country, our culture, and indeed, even our faith,” Gallups told WND. “The Christian West faces a crisis like no other. We need a leader and a champion to fight for us against those who wish to utterly exterminate us. One man has ‘sounded the trumpet’ and stepped forward to fight for the American nation and its traditional culture. That man is Donald Trump.”

Gallups did not deny Trump had made mistakes. But he argued Christians should still rally to Trump’s cause.

“I urge you not to become self-righteous over a matter like this,” the pastor said. “Yes, I am asking you to choose the lesser of two evils. But you always have and you always will – until Jesus returns. If you don’t vote, or you vote for a third party which will not and cannot win, then you have literally, actually voted for the greater of the two evils. Don’t get caught up in this politically correct speech, this paralysis by analysis, until you end up helping the very thing you think you are standing against.

“Don’t be self-righteous about who is going to be president and live the rest of your life making compromises every day. People have got to wrap their heads around reality. The fact is, the left doesn’t care if your conscience doesn’t allow you to vote for Trump. Hillary Clinton doesn’t care what excuse you come up with. Whatever it is, I can assure you she enthusiastically approves! She just wants you to stay home or vote third party.”

Extraordinary events predicted centuries in advance are unfolding now. Here is your guide to the incredible prophecies being fulfilled before our very eyes. Don’t miss the bestselling sensation from one of America’s most prolific and beloved pastors. “When the Lion Roars: Understanding the Implications of Ancient Prophecies for Our Time” by Carl Gallups, available now in the WND Superstore.

Jeffress said he is voting on Nov. 8 because “my conscience won’t allow me to do otherwise.” Gallups says the same.

“Make no mistake – if you stay home or refuse to vote for Trump, you bear partial moral responsibility for what comes next,” he said. “When the last embers of the flame of liberty are stamped out, well, that’s what you voted for. When the Supreme Court turns the Constitution on its head and repudiates the traditional liberties we’ve enjoyed for generations, well, that’s what you’ve voted for. And when the state makes it impossible to practice or preach traditional Christianity, that’s what you’ve voted for.

“Speaking for myself, I am not comfortable telling my children that I helped make Hillary Clinton president. Indeed, I want to do everything I can to make sure that nightmare does not come true.”

The question of “conscience” is especially important, Gallups said, given the new Clinton scandals that seem to be breaking every day.

“Where is the conscience of those willing to inflict President Hillary Clinton on us?” Gallups asked. “This is a woman who has been, at best, silent about her husband’s pattern of predatory behavior on women for decades and yet poses as a champion of feminism. This is a woman whose foundation has been revealed as nothing more than a giant slush fund for her and her corrupt husband. This is a woman who broke the law and violated security protocols as secretary of state, offenses which would be punishable by jail time if she were anyone else but Hillary Clinton. This is a woman who claims to be a champion of workers and the dispossessed, but earns untold sums of money speaking to Wall Street bankers and refuses to disclose the content of her speeches.

“Voting for Trump violates your conscience but supporting Hillary is acceptable? I don’t buy it.”

As did Jeffress, Gallups suggested Trump has actually made real promises to the Christian community not only on issues such as abortion or the Supreme Court but on supporting the Jewish state of Israel. Gallups acknowledged in a recent interview on InfoWars some Christians have a hard time trusting Trump. But Trump himself, he noted, seems to be aware of the heavy moral responsibility he has accepted.

“In some of his recent comments, he understood that the Lord himself was watching him,” said Gallups. “He understood he had to keep his promises. He had to be truthful. He had to be integrity filled. He had to be the leader he was promising to be.”

Gallups concluded Christians should back Trump not because he’s perfect but because he is, fundamentally, on their side. Hillary Clinton, he declared, is not.

“I don’t think Trump is the savior of America,” he said. “I don’t put my trust in one man. But in the human realm, we have the choice between Trump and Clinton. And if Christians stay home, they are in effect backing Hillary Clinton.

“Which candidate is most likely to be most ‘friendly’ to the Christian community at large – as well as with Israel? Which candidate will most likely give those of us who are Christians and pastors the opportunities to address, fight, and possibly defeat some of the moral insanities that have been inflicted upon this nation in the last eight years? Which president do you want to see sitting across the table from the diabolic regimes of the world trying to hold back the flood of evil they wish to inflict upon the United States – Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?

“It really does just come down to that.”
