(Before It's News)

As the election results rolled in Tuesday night and a Trump presidency appeared somewhat certain, one economics professor at Yale University received an influx of “heartfelt notes” from students “in shock over the election returns” who asked he postpone the midterm exam.

While the professor didn’t postpone the exam, noting that it would throw the entire schedule off, he did hear the pleas of his students and decided to make the exam optional with a grading curve to ensure everyone still received a fair grade whether they chose to take the midterm or not.

Of course, the professor noted in the announcement that the messages he found “most upsetting” were those from students who “fear, rightly or wrongly, for their own families.” Rioting in cities across the country after the announcement of the 45th president-elect appeared to make those fears lean farther to the right.
