Traffic stop leads to discovery of Tec-9
A stop initiated over a traffic infraction in Portland Friday night ended with a 27-year-old man in jail after officers discovered a Tec-9 with a 32-round magazine in the vehicle.
The traffic stop occurred just after 11 p.m. and officers described one of the occupants as “acting very nervously.” A subsequent search of the Dodge Charger led to the discovery of the firearm, which was immediately seized.
Andre Montgomery, who had a prior conviction for unlawful possession of a firearm, was arrested and again charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded firearm. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and was released the next day after posting bail.
