What is News and What is Not?
What is News and what is not? This is a pertinent question today.
Back in the Reagan era there were laws dealing with truth in broadcasting and if a broadcaster was caught lying to the public the FCC could pull their license to broadcast. But Reagan and the Neocons found the truth to be inconvenient so they repealed those laws. Since then it’s been a free for all with each broadcaster deciding for themselves what to present as truth.
During this same time there has been a great consolidation of the broadcasters with the end results a MSM that is controlled by a handful of billionaires with loyalties to a foreign power controlling literally all the US broadcast media. These billionaires also have an agenda. So at this point the News is no longer reported to us objectively and is always biased if not out right lies or fiction, whatever the owners of our media and the foreign government they are loyal to wants the American people to believe is the News.
Enter the internet and alternative News outlets, some professionally done, some not so much. Although the alt-news does report some news suppressed by the MSM it is also filled with wild fictitious writing, presented as true, and outright hatred against one thing or person or another.
So we come to the present state where the bullshit is so deep even the lying news outlets are claiming anyone not in line with their version of the news are lying. It’s gotten quite absurd.
Because of this I thought it may be good to list a few things that are sure signs the source of the news is questionable.
First lets look at the difference between reality and opinion. Many times the opinion of alleged experts on a subject will voice opinions that are represented as facts and news. Opinion is not fact, news or reality.
Labeling, name-calling, insults, assumption and abuse is not News. Let me give you an example of how to report the same event but one is full of bias and reflects a political agenda and one doesn’t.
“Today, Palestinian terrorists fired 2 rockets into Israel.” Just that short sentence says a lot. It starts with the demonization of Palestinians as terrorists and guilty, then it assumes that the rockets were fired into Israel. The actual truth, without the spin or the propaganda, would be more like, “Today, in Palestine, two rockets were fired, it is suspected by resistance to the Israeli occupation.” This is just an example of how differently an event can easily be presented with bias, name calling, assumption and propagandized in just eight words and then with just the facts. Sadly all objectivity in journalism has been compromised because of the consolidation of control into the hands of a few with the same loyalties and agenda. Everything is now biased and propagandized.
Any “News” that employs name-calling, insults, lies, hate or abuse of the subject is never news but is just sociopathic ranting. We see a lot of this specifically online. It’s usually just opinion trying to spread hatred.
Any “News” that promotes a religious or political agenda is not news.
Facts mean a lot in the News, opinion means nothing and there’s the gravity of the event. You see a lot of headlines claiming proof of one thing or another but most times this is not true, but just the old, “he said, she said” ploy. If any of those news stories are true why don’t they ever have any documents or emails to show as actual proof? As far as the gravity of the event is concerned. Events in the real world that affect the lives of people are News. Events in the lives of the rich and famous are not News.
Now with the claims of “Fake News” and censorship by Facebook and Google we enter a new era of disinformation. Why would the MSM and its billionaire owners want to completely undermine the integrity of all News broadcasting? Why would they want to make people think everything presented as News is not true? The only reason for that is they know of coming events that they will not be able to suppress but don’t want you to believe is true.
One explanation for that was the US and other governments are required by treaty to reveal the existence of alien contact. This provision in the alien treaty has a deadline that is rapidly approaching and the way the powers that be choose to deal with it is to make you believe it isn’t true when it happens or so the theory goes.
They may realize they have lost the battle to control the News so it now becomes cult-like in nature, like the cult of celebrity, all about believers and getting them to believe your version of things instead of all the other “Fake News” sources.
