(Before It's News)

Frank DeSomma, president and CEO of Patriot Ordnance Factory, a rifle manufacturer based in Phoenix, Arizona, recently doubled down on a controversial offer he made at the NRA Annual Meetings in May 2016 to then-presidential nominee Donald Trump.

DeSomma offered one free rifle for every guard tower along the wall that Trump proposed building along the Mexican border.

According to calculations by Guns.com, if the effective range of a 5.56 rifle is 600 yards, then guard towers could be placed every 1,200 yards along the wall. The border is 3.5 million yards long, so it could require 2,917 towers.

POF’s most affordable rifle is $1,469. Assuming there wouldn’t be any extras, that would set POF back $4.2 million.

Donald Trump never responded.

So recently at SHOT Show in Las Vegas, DeSomma “upped the ante” by offering POF’s brand new Revolution AR-10 style rifle that fires the 7.62mm or .308 round. MSRP is not yet available. But if we take the similar (yet likely less expensive) P308 rifle priced at $2,729, this new offer is worth just under $8 million.

Will President Trump respond? What do you think of DeSomma’s offer?
