Nanogirl, AKA Sharon Barrington returns to The Kev Baker Show for the first time in 2017. We go over the chaos planned for the inauguration of Donald Trump before having a conversation about technology & robot rights.

We begin by discussing the upcoming inauguration of Donald Trump & the protests planned to disrupt his big day.

With such distrust in the intelligence agencies, are we watching a repeat, or echo, of the past, more specifically the Presidency & eventual assassination of JFK?

Nanogirl mentions during the show that Aaron & Melissa Dykes (Truthstream Media) & Joe Joseph (TFR & The Daily Sheeple) have covered the inauguration in-depth, so I have included their updates below.

Lets hope nothing serious goes down on inauguration day, but if you are attending please be aware of agent provocateurs etc, don’t get dragged into the madness that is planned.

Rights for robots?

Nanogirl has become well known for her cutting edge news & analysis of all things coming from the world of technology, robotics & artificial intelligence, and in this episode she opens up the discussion on the robot revolution that is upon us.

We play a number of videos during the conversation (included at the bottom of this post) & one in particular gets the debate started.

Nano played a clip that showed monkeys showing grief & an out pouring of sympathy when a robotic monkey appeared to die. This is huge when put into the context that in previous experiments ie using a toy monkey, there was no such reaction. However, with the robot monkey that makes facial expressions, things change.

I say this is huge because experiments such as this one are designed to see how humans will react in certain situations. There is a lot of talk about people developing feelings for their robots & vice versa, so this kind of experiment is very telling indeed.

Johnny Whistles makes the great point that monkeys would show the exact same response to a puppy or kitten, which they would. Johnny rightly points out that the monkeys have no idea its a robot so its a worthless exercise.

Perhaps Nano & I are reading too much into this event, but we feel that this demonstrates how humans will build up feelings toward robots, or machines, however you want to name them.

Robots that are anthropomorphic are far more appealing/approachable to humans, as opposed to the models that look nothing like us. The more human looking the robot, the more we become at ease with it. This will lead to people developing the very feelings we see in the monkey video.

Over here in the EU they are currently drafting a bill that will see robots classified as “electronic persons”, which many have dubbed a bill of “robot rights”.

MEPs have called for the adoption of comprehensive rules for how humans will interact with robots, androids, bots and other artificially intelligent creations.

The report states that these machines are about to, “unleash a new industrial revolution, which is likely to leave no stratum of society untouched”.

“The most sophisticated autonomous robots could be established as having the status of electronic persons with specific rights and obligations, including that of making good any damage they may cause,” the report states.

NEW TECHNOLOGY HERE, THERE & EVERYWHERE! WHY NOW?

Nano explains that during her research for the show she was overwhelmed by the amount of technological bases stories & announcements she came across. This has led Nano to question why now?

Could it be that, as we have covered in other shows, Trump is backed by the “breakaway civilization” or a faction within it?
