The 14 Fake Olive Oil Companies Are Revealed Now – Avoid These Brands

It was found that even 7 of the biggest olive oil makers in the USA, mix their items with cheap oils to get more profits. Namely, one of the products we regard as healthiest and a remedy for longevity has been corrupted.

Apparently, even 70% of olive oil sold in the U.S. stores is fake, as they have been cut with cheaper, inferior oils like canola (canola is NOT a true food, but a chemical mix – do not use) and sunflower oil! This is similar to the 2008 practice in Italy. This meant seizure for 85 oil farms that mixed some percentage chlorophyll with sunflower and canola to the olive oil.

The oil was mixed, colored, perfumed and flavored too, and these things made the Australian government investigate their oils. The results were awful. After that, not one brand named extra virgin olive oil got the 2012 certificate of approval.

These scams made the University of California study 124 imported brands of extra virgin olive oil and they discovered that more than 70% of the samples did not pass the test.

THESE ARE THE BRANDS THAT FAILED THE TEST:

Carapelli
Mezzetta
Pompeian
Mazola
Primadonna
Colavita
Sasso
Antica Badia
Star
Whole Foods
Felippo Berio
Safeway
Coricelli
Bertolli

ON THE OTHER HAND, THE FOLLOWING BRANDS ARE TRUSTWORTHY:

Lucero
McEvoy Ranch Organic
Corto Olive
Omaggio
Bariani Olive Oil
California Olive Ranch
Lucini
Ottavio
Cobram Estate
Olea Estates
Kirkland Organic

HOW TO TEST OLIVE OIL:

Additionally, you can also test the olive oil you have at home. You should put the bottle in the fridge for half an hour, and if it starts to solidify, it means that the oil is pure, as it contains a large amount of monounsaturated fat.

On the other hand, if it does not solidify, it is fake. Yet, just to be sure, look for official governmental seals of approval on the label, like “Australian Extra Virgin Certified” and “California Olive Oil Council Certified Extra Virgin.”

We really hope you find this article helpful and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family. Thank You.

  • thanks
    i buy California olive ranch

    • Busted! Well done. Now all we have to do is find ALL the Chinese poison that is being put in America’s food supply.

    • According to this test, COR fails as well, at least mine did.
      This poser has no credibility

  • There is no fear of the consequences for this kind of crime……they never go to jail, lose their business or family fortunes because sheeple don’t give a crap about being fecaled all over like this. Sometimes it appears that the stupid public really enjoy being fire hosed all the time.

  • Man

man, this is old fake news.

The whole extra virgin olive oil label has strict guidelines on the taste, aroma, and color, and the flavor tests.

    it is still olive oil

    • Go take an enema,Man,Maybe something good comes out of you.

      • Man

oh you have experience about that? was it bentonite clay or coffee grinds for detox?

  • I guess I will have to do the ‘fridge test for my Carlini olive oil. It is sold by Aldi Food Stores. It is not on either list.

  • I’ve found a store near me that sells real small-batch extra virgin olive oil – $15 bucks for a little 1/2 litre bottle – and oh my, there’s really no doubt.
The difference is like night and day!
Thick, bright green and smelling like a freshly-mowed lawn, I put this “Hualdo Arbequina” on everything, heheh…
But the stuff they have in most supermarkets is just garbage.

  • tHANKS FOR THAT,

  • The tree starts from cuttings, is neglected, here, and still manages to stain the ground, with it’s dark fruits, every year. Always.

Southern California, zone 9. Morongo Basin. It grows within eyeshot of natural sand dunes, and also in occasional snow.

This is probably an example of a crime, which is more complicated than just doing it the right way.

I have an oil press and cuttings from an old orchard. Yes, really.

Look, I know there are different skill levels, but there might just be less of these problems, if people had constructive, independent hobbies, which involved going out, in the light of day.

  • I read this sometime last year.
Costco’s Kirkland brand fared better than Italian made oils. In fact, Kirkland is one of the better ones if you read more deeply into the study. Perhaps #3 or 4 top on the list.
Their virgin coconut oil is also the best, in my opinion – not just value for the price, but the quality is outstanding.
Not meaning to plug Costco, I would never buy produce or clothes there.
However, they do have quality products on most of their Kirkland brand stuff.

  • kat

You are telling me that Kirkland Olive Oil is legitimate??? Seriously? Shame on you. This whole article is now deemed completely unreliable. It’s true, they repeatedly deceive the public with fake olive oil. If you buy it you already know that. Just look at the colored bottles they use for the olive oil.

  • So I looked in my cupboard and found Bertolii and Pompeian, both failed the test.
I went and bought two different types of California Olive Ranch, they failed too.
I call bullshit on you motherfucker

  • Do you post here? Or just spam top articles of the hour?

If your site is so wonderful , try posting some of the more interesting stories here, and people will come.
I have a munch of bookmarks from this site, non of which are story telling embellished foolhardy sites.

If it can pass muster, you will see volume on your site, if not….you will be harassed here, just like COS.

    Simple, right?
