Man breaking into home meets female resident with a gun (Video)
A man was shot by a female resident while trying to break into a home in Dayton, Ohio, early Thursday morning.
Police received a 911 call around 4:40 a.m. from a woman who said she shot a man who was breaking into the house.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the injured intruder still inside the home. He was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
Although they did not immediately release his name, authorities said the suspect had a lengthy criminal history.
Sgt. Matt Beavers with the Dayton Police Department also said, “You have a right to protect your home and I think everybody understands that right, that you need to keep your home, your family safe.”
Beavers said the investigation is ongoing.
