This is an update on our two prior reports about North Korea and the South China Sea.
The US Army has been quietly moving its forces south away from the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). The purpose of this move is to distance themselves from approximately 20,000 pieces of North Korean long range artillery.
Earlier this year, the US moved 24 AH-64D Apaches into South Korea. Meanwhile, the USS Carl Vincent strike group is due in South Korea’s Busan port area this week. There are also F35 stealth aircraftbeing moved to South Korea from Japan to practice strike exercises.
Further, 3500 members of the Fort Riley, Kansas-based 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division is in South Korea supplementing the 28,500 member permanent force. Later this month, the Navy’s SEAL Team 6, the Army Delta force, the Army Rangers and the Army Green Berets are all deploying to South Korea. While there, they will practice drills involving the removal of Kim Jong-un and the destruction of North Korea’s WMD’s.
Secretary of State Rex Tillersonis headed to the area this week. The White House recently stated that all options are on the table when dealing with North Korea, including military ones. Tillerson will travel on a small plane with no press which is a break from the normal procedure.
The KCNA (North Korean Central News Agency) stated,
“The U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces should be mindful that nuclear-powered carriers and all other strategic assets of the U.S. imperialists are in sight of the Korean People’s Army’s powerful ultra-precision strike means. If they infringe on the DPRK’s sovereignty and dignity even a bit, its army will launch merciless ultra-precision strikes from ground, air, sea and underwater. The war maniacs had better stop acting rashly.”
