A would-be car thief, who attempted to hop into an idling red Dodge Challenger at a Warren gas station about 4 a.m. Friday, wasn't quick enough; he was instead spotted by the owner, who rushed to the parking lot and opened fire, striking the suspect in the neck and causing him to crash into a nearby utility pole, Charlie Langston reported for CBS Detroit affiliate WWJ-AM (950).
