(Before It's News)

The “permitless” or Constitutional carry bill, HB 10-72 has passed the senate 23-11.  It will now be sent to Governor Dennis Daugaard. From sdpb.org:

A bill that establishes constitutional carry in South Dakota now heads to the governor’s desk.

State Senator Brock Greenfield brought House Bill 10-72 to the full chamber. He says current concealed carry laws create a barrier for law abiding citizens.

The bill passed the senate on 6 March, 2017. Governor Daugaard has said that he will veto any changes to the state's gun laws. From kscj.com:

The governor, who is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, says he will veto that bill if it passes the legislature.

Daugaard says the state’s gun laws are fine the way they are.
Most residents do not need a permit to purchase a firearm:

The senate also passed HB 1156, which will allow people with enhanced concealed carry permits to carry in the Capitol.  HB 1156 passed 19 to 15.

Neither bill has sufficient votes at present to override a veto.
