The United Nations’ aid chief says the world is facing the largest humanitarian crisis since 1945. The question is, why did the UN wait till now to express its concern over the genocide of the people of Yemen, which began 2 years ago. Instead of expelling Saudi Arabia from the UN, they gave it a seat on the Human Rights Council…?!

Stephen O’Brien, the United Nations’ aid chief, made the remarks during a meeting at the UN Security Council. He requested 4.4 billion dollars in humanitarian assistance for Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and Nigeria. The UN aid chief further called for international community’s collective endeavor to prevent the impecunious from starving to death. O’Brien also said the largest humanitarian crisis is in Yemen, noting that nearly 19 million of the country’s 26-million population are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.
