Dr. Paul Marik, a South African critical care doctor at EVMS, has found a the cure for sepsis, a common infection that gets into the blood and kills 1,000 people a day in the U.S. alone. His procedure is now being implemented in their ICU for all sepsis cases, and other hospitals around the world.
