Missouri-based Starline Brass expanded its growing lineup of rifle brass with the addition of the .338 Federal.

With Savage Arms and Wilson Combat boasting rifles chambered in the round, consumers now have the option to reload their favorite .338 rifles with Starline Brass.

Originally introduced in 2006 by Federal and Sako, the .338 Federal round achieves the same muzzle energy as some magnum calibers but with less recoil. Known for its accuracy and stopping power in a controllable package, the round hits harder than .308 but shoots flatter than .358 Winchester. The result is an excellent close to mid-range big game hunting round that works alongside standard length short action rifles and AR-10s without sacrificing magazine capacity.

The company says the addition of the .338 Federal brass casing is only the first step toward expansion. Starline Brass has plans to further extend its reach by offering casings in .243 Win, .223 Rem, .300 Blackout, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 and .260 Rem in the near future.

Available in boxes of 250, 500 or 1,000 rounds, pricing starts at $145.
