Olive Ridley turtles begin their return to the sea after laying eggs near the mouth of the Rushikulya river in the Ganjam district, south west of Bhubaneshwar. Thousands of sea turtles started to come ashore over the last two days to lay their eggs on the beach, one of the three big nesting sites in the Indian coastal state of Orissa.

The smallest fox in the world, the fennec fox, pops a pose at the Cincinnati Zoo in Ohio. Fennec foxes have very large ears, reaching lengths up to 6 inches, making their hearing impeccable. Their big ears also act as radiators, allowing their bodies to regulate temperatures in the hot desert.
