With Ebola on the back burner for the time being and out of US headlines, do we now have something else to Worry about ? The nydailynews is reporting the first case of H5N1 on US soil, as a green winged teal duck tested positive for the virus in Washington State.

So far It does not appear to have spread to domestic poultry or humans, NBCreported.

The H5N1 virus is the nastiest, one of the most feared viruses, with a very high kill rate. Millions of birds around the world have been destroyed already in recent years, that were infected or suspected to have the virus.

The report goes on to state that, the US poultry supply could become jeopardized, if an infected migratory bird such as the green-winged teal spreads the virus, from there, it could possibly start infecting humans.

I’m hoping this will be the last we see or hear of this? We’ll see.
