If you’re looking for a place with great spring warbler action but without the crowds often found in Ohio, look no further than Michigan’s Tawas Point. Just a couple hours north of Detroit (and not too far away from breeding Kirkland’s Warblers!), Tawas Point is a beautiful, sleepy location worth visiting. Local birder Kirby Adams offers up his tips for birding the location and which birds to look for there in the March 2015 issue of Birder’s Guide to Travel. And with Virginia Maynard’s maps, you’ll know exactly where to go. Click here to access the article.
Kirby did a great job of covering the point itself in his article, but there are many other nearby locations that we just didn’t have room for. Do you have a favorite birding location in the Tawas Point area that you’d like to share? An experience you want to tell us about? A comment or question about the article? Please offer them in the comment section, below!
