Wait, what? Did we really just say we were going to split your money? Yes, we did. Because as birders, we know that splits are a good thing! When a bird species gets “split” into two or more, it means more to learn, more to see, more to enjoy, more to share, and more to protect for the birders of tomorrow. And at the ABA, we promise that your gift will be split among some really wonderful programs.

Part of your gift will support the birding community of which we’re proud to be a leader. That means money to initiatives like our celebrated Young Birder programs, publications like Birding, the FREE Birder’s Guide, and the myriad other outreach programs we make available to all birders, such as hosting Birding News, aiding bird clubs and festivals, and organizing rallies to highlight birding in a wide range of geographic locations and communities. Many of these programs and services are available to and used by birders around the world, even if they’re not ABA members.

Part of your gift also goes to support conservation initiatives. At the ABA we’re invested in making sure that birders have a positive conservation impact. That means supporting our new Spark Bird Project and our venerable Birders’ Exchange, both of which put optics in the hands of those who need them and can effect positive change with them. It means helping the ABA continue its Duck Stamp program and helping to put us forge partnerships with government agencies and other environmental organizations to make sure birder voices are heard where they count.

We know that you value these initiatives because that’s what you’ve told us. Help us turn your values into action with a donation to the ABA’s Annual Appeal.

Those who make a donation of $150 or more before the end of the year will receive a print of the stunning Green Heron Bird of the Year Birding cover, signed by the artist Rafael Galvez. Thanks for your continued support of the ABA and your interest in birds and birding.

We value every dollar that you give and we promise to split your support wisely and in ways that will have maximum impact.Like the pleasure of finding out that your life list has suddenly grown more than you expected, you can donate now knowing that your gift will have an impact beginning today and stretching far into the future.
