We are really excited to announce the ABA’s Big Year 2016 Membership Contest!
Have you ever dreamed of doing an ABA Big Year? Well, we’ve put a new twist on it that we think you’ll like!
Here’s how it works. Recruit new ABA members throughout the year and you’ll be eligible to win some amazing prizes from our contest sponsors (Canopy Family, Zeiss, Caligo Ventures, Eagle Optics, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Wildside Nature Tours, Novagrade, Vanguard, Celestron, Buteo Books, Naturalist Journeys & Casa de San Pedro, and Leica.)
Along the way to your truly Big Year, we’ll hold monthly drawings for a prize. The more memberships you bring in during a month, the more likely you are to win a prize! Best of all, you can win up to two of these monthly prizes on your way to being crowned an ABA Big Year champion! For January 2016, the prize is a box of birding books from our sponsor Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
When undertaking an ABA Big Year, it’s important that you take along the right clothing. We’re going to help you with that by outfitting you with some nice ABA logo wear along the way. Big Year participants will receive milestone prizes from the ABA Shop as their list of recruits grows. When you bring in five new members, you’ll receive an ABA cap, ten new members an ABA binocular strap, and for twenty new members, you’ll be sporting a new ABA shirt!
Anyone who has done an ABA Big Year knows the great effort and stamina it takes to go all year. So do our friends at Canopy Family, Zeiss, and Caligo Ventures, who will be awarding our top three ABA Big Year Membership Contest participants with some unbelievable prizes at the end of the year! If you are ABA’s top recruiter at the end of the year, you will get your pick of the following prizes. Second place will choose from the remaining two, and third place will be awarded whichever prize remains. How about that for a Big Year!
We hope you have as much fun taking part in the contest as we did putting it together. With your active participation, we’ll build a strong and thriving ABA. Get out there and spread the word!
