Announcing the 2016 ABA Young Birders of the Year!
After months of impressive and dedicated work from young people across North America, our esteemed panel of judges have evaluated and tabulated the results of the 2016 ABA Young Birder of the Year Contest. We have contacted the winners are ready to share the announcement with the rest of the world. Drumroll, please…
Your 2016 ABA Young Birder of the Year for the 14-18 age category is 16-year-old Caroline Biel from Toronto, Ontario! Congratulations, Marky!
In the 10-13-year-old category the Young Birder of the Year is 13-year-old Avery Scott, from Williston, New York. Fantastic work, Avery!
Winning contestants receive prizes donated by birding-related businesses and organizations. Caroline and Avery, as the top finishers in each age group, will receive a pair of Leica Trinovid binoculars donated by ABA’s Legacy Sponsor, Leica Sport Optics. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this prestigious competition.
