They Discovered The Deepest Living Fish Ever Found: A Snailfish (Video)
Aberdeen University researchers set new record for deepest fish found. It was spotted 26,722ft down in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. Called a snailfish it has a ghostly tadpole-like body and no scales. It breaks the previous record by 1,640 feet (500 metres). Scientists don’t think fish can live much deeper because the pressure becomes too intense. Watch the footage below:
Video of a newly discovered species is now the world’s deepest known fish recorded at 8,143 m depth. The fish has a novel body form that has not been seen before. It stunned scientists because in other trenches, there is only one fish species at this depth–a snailfish; this fish is really different from any other deep-sea fish that scientists have ever seen.
