Phantom Falls by Daniel Laan Ok, I need you to press “H” on this one. It will darken the background, reveal shadow detail and optically saturate the image as intended. In short: It looks better! This was at sunset among the peaks of Iceland’s rugged Snæfellsnes peninsula. These ghostly mountains are one of my favourite subjects to shoot; they are ever changing mood up there. At one moment it looks calm and serene, while mere seconds later it’s pure menace. ^_^ I liked this composition because of the waterfall and cascading, diagonal shadow detail. To bring that out, I chose to darken the exposure enough to just not clip the shadows. Thanks for having a look around. I appreciate your time. Daniel Laan: Photos
