“Hello, sun in my face. Hello you who made the morning and spread it over the fields…Watch, now, how I start the day in happiness, in kindness.”

Hello, hello my beautiful creative friends and seekers!!

I've missed you! Have you missed me?

It seems like eons since I used to check in regularly here and I've been feeling the call to recommit to this space, to our shared experience, to our community of curious wonderment.

Most of you know that last year was a big one for me,
and that this year I am taking things a little easier,
spending time taking more care of myself,
so that I can continue to do the work I value so much in the world,
taking care of the creative souls of those whose paths intertwine with mine.

For those of you who may have missed my 2016 adventures it was definitely a doozy and I am soooooo grateful to be back on the path to wellness.

Here's a little recap to get you up to date!

I truly believe that there is no better way to walk through this world than from a place of gratitude. Being centred in this space opens up everything GOOD so what better place to begin to blog again than with thanks for the abundance of beauty, love and kindness in this world.

Just yesterday these two beautiful kookaburras flew into the Paperbark tree in our backyard and serenaded me with the joyful sound of their raucous laughter.

Looking up Kookaburra symbolism I found the following words, some of which resonated deeply.
Maybe they will for you too?

“Pay attention to opportunities around you, and listen to nature and to the world around you, you may find that you are being given some important messages at this time.

The kookaburra encourages us to use laughter as a form of healing. Laughter can be a positive force for the body, even when we force it and we don't really 'feel' it. Laughter between people is a way that reinforces bonding and helps us to enjoy life even when things are very tough. Look at how much you laugh every day, chances are if kookaburra has flown into your life you could stand to laugh a little more. It is time to turn your hurt into happiness, and the power of laughter is a great road to doing just that.

Kookaburra draws our attention to family, and our family relationships. Often kookaburra energy suggests that family connections are important in our lives at this time, either because of rivalry (particularly amongst siblings) or because we are looking at our role within the family unit. Ask yourself what your responsibilities are to your family, and what their responsibilities are to you. If you feel you are not being honoured or respected enough by your blood relations, ask yourself if you have given them the honour and respect you feel you deserve.

Kookaburra has a very powerful healing energy, and its presence in a reading or in your life can indicate a time when profound healing is occurring. This healing is not just happening to you, but to people around you, and creates a more healthful ripple effect that creates positive changes to come. Kookaburra can indicate that the querent has reached the end of a difficult journey, and new healthful growth has already begun. ”

So, for the next thirty days I am committing to check in daily and record my gratitude here in this space of Heartful Musings.

Today I am overwhelmingly grateful for this beautiful place we call home~ Jervis Bay.
Rising early I sipped on my coffee and then, just after sunrise, walked the short distance to the beach, crossing Moona Moona Creek.
Everything was still, not a ripple on the water, a lone campervan across the way had found the perfect place to sleep.

A short walk and I am on the beach. The rain has washed the tannins into the bay and the water is chocolate grey rather than its usual turquoise blue.

I walk for an hour listening to an Abundant Artist Podcast discussion called “Are Women Worse at Self Promotion than Men”
It makes for interesting listening and I'm grateful for those who collate and share their wisdom so freely, helping us all to grow and learn.

On the way home the mood of Moona Moona has changed a little.
Light breaks through the clouds, reflecting in the dark waters, and tiny fish dance along the surface.
I breathe it all in, grateful for this new day, this walk, these legs, this breath, this light, this chance to share it all with you.
Grateful times infinity and looking forward to being here with you for the next thirty days.

Lots of love
