Boston Police Prove System Works in Terrorist-Stalked America
By Judi McLeod
While the world slept last night, Boston Police did their job. Like the many unsung heroes among first responders and soldiers on watch in some of the globe’s most treacherous places, they don’t work for recognition but only to get the job done.

Obama’s Futile Tantrum over Gun Bill
By Arnold Ahlert
During his 2008 presidential campaign, Barack Obama ran as a great uniter. “I don’t think there is anybody in this race who’s able to bring new people into the process and break out of some of the ideological gridlock that we have as effectively as I can,” he said at the time.

Guns and Guerrillas
By Mary A. Nicholas
Law abiding U.S. citizens are looking up the barrel of a gun as their rights are shattered in front of their eyes. Some of the most vocal proponents for gun control are the radical home-grown terrorists still enchanted with the gangrenous rot of guerrillas and genocidal murderers. The war against guns is being waged on the battlefield of propaganda and Hollywood. That’s why it’s critical, in the discussion on gun control, to go back to “the sixties,” not to 2012 in Newtown.
The April 14 World
By Daniel Greenfield
The day before the Marathon Massacre, the New York Times had scored plaudits for running an op-ed by one of Osama bin Laden’s bodyguards complaining about his hard life in Guantanamo Bay.
On April 14th, the paper of broken record paid 150 bucks to an Al Qaeda member for the opportunity to complain about being force fed during his hunger strike. On April 15th the bombs went off.
The attacks of September 11 introduced a dividing line between awareness and disregard. There was the world of September 10 and the world of September 11. In one world the planes passing in the sky were a minor reminder of our technological prowess. In the other, we were at war.
Boston-like bomb plans published by al Qaeda
By Doug Hagmann
A bomb-making manual, written in Arabic and published less than two months ago, made its rounds on sites used by Muslim terrorists worldwide. The manual provides specific instructions on the best methods of packaging a bomb using a pressure cooker. Previously, the English language Muslim terrorist magazine published under the name Inspire carried similar instructions, although the instructions contained within this newest manual appear to be far more advanced by comparison.
Why the Federal Government?
By Mike Foil
The War for Independence had just been won. Thirteen sovereign States were operating under the Articles of Confederation, which had already been shown to be inadequate. The leaders called for a second constitutional convention to “fix” the Articles of Confederation.
We Don’t Need Immigration Reform, We Need Immigration ENFORCEMENT
By Jerry McConnell
The clamor and call heard all across the country from socialist-communist led liberal Democrats is that America needs reform in our immigration laws. Naturally the new reforms these traitorous former loyal Americans seek are new regulations which would allow, in fact, encourage wild and uncontrolled open borders and safe passageways for illegal aliens from any source to walk right in uncontested and stake out territories for themselves even if owned by legal citizen Americans.
Another Inconvenient Truth
By Sarge
I was speaking with a good friend having a specific stake in the way and manner Louisiana conducts business. He’s been planning on building a refinery one day in the company of other fiscally and economically prolific businessmen. He said he’d like to create this economic force of nature in Louisiana but it appeared he’d be going to Texas if the economic growth program in Louisiana didn’t become more business friendly. He said he wanted Louisiana to negate personal income taxes and extra taxes on businesses. Taxes make creating jobs and growing industry nearly impossible.
Police say they’ve killed one of two Boston Marathon suspects
By Dan Calabrese
A developing story as of this moment. Police in Massachusetts say they have killed one of the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects in a standoff in the city of Watertown. The other suspect is still at large. The standoff arose from a robbery at a 7/11 in Cambridge. Here is more from the New York Times:

The Interview: Terry McAuliffe & the Boston Attack
By Michael R. Shannon

(A source within the McAuliffe for Governor campaign leaked a copy of this transcript from an interview with a New York Times Sunday Magazine reporter. I felt I owed it to my readers to give them an advance look at this latest development in the Virginia governor’s race.)
Terrorism and the Media: A Symbiotic Relationship
By John W. Whitehead
“The success of a terrorist operation depends almost entirely on the amount of publicity it receives.”—Walter Laqueur, Terrorism (1977)
Just imagine that you’re a terrorist with limited funds and you want to wreak havoc. You only have a few bombs, but you want your message broadcast to the world. How do you get the best bang for your buck? The answer is simple: turn the media into broadcasters for your acts of terrorism. (Rest assured, the politicians will also do their part to make the most of the moment and escalate a legitimate crisis into a full-blown political drama.)
Boston bombing: Americans rise to the occasion
By Lloyd Marcus
Dear Fellow Americans,
Like you, I am saddened and angry at the evil terrorist who bombed the Boston Marathon. I am also angered by the Democrats’ and their sycophant media hack’s mad dash to blame Republicans.
The Perils of Punditry
By Alan Caruba
When one writes daily about the personalities, events and issues of the day, there is a point at which it occurs that you have revisited a particular story before and that is because each successive generation is apparently compelled to visit the same issues and make the same mistakes over and over again.

Jim DeMint on the Senate’s Flawed Immigration Plan
By Heritage Foundation
Since the birth of our nation, the United States has recognized the vital role of lawful immigration, as it brings important economic and cultural benefits. We have always been, and will continue to be, a nation of immigrants.
Absolute horror: Texas explosion levels 8-12 blocks
By Dan Calabrese
This has certainly been the week for jaw-dropping events that leave a columnist coming up empty for much that’s meaningful to say. The West, Texas explosion is many degrees worse than Boston simply in terms of the number of deaths and injuries, which is not to minimize those suffered in Boston in any way.
If you need a symbol for the budget challenge facing Stephen Harper, look no further than the old Nortel campus in Ottawa’s western suburbs.
A study from the Journal of Power Sources indicated that by 2030 the grid could be powered almost entirely using a mix of wind (both on- and off-shore), solar and grid-scale energy storage, and that this grid would be both affordable and reliable. It would require building solar and wind capacity up to three times the grid’s actual load across a large geographical area. The concept challenges the notion that renewables need back-up power from fossil fuels for base load power generation.(i)
EGYPT: Mourners Assaulted by Muslim Rioters
By News on the Net
Sources: Christian Solidarity Worldwide, CP Middle East, International Christian Concern
Hundreds of people gathered at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbassia, Cairo, on April 7th for the funeral of four Christians who were killed during an uprising of inter-religious violence in the nearby community of Khosous two days earlier. (Two Muslim men had also died in the conflict.) As the mourners were leaving the service, they were pelted with stones by a growing number of angry Muslim rioters. This quickly escalated into a massive attack on the cathedral involving firearms, petrol bombs and tear gas. Two other Christians died and over 80 people were injured during the riot which lasted five hours. According to reports, some Christians had retaliated in the mounting conflict. As a result, Egyptian officials have arrested four Christian men.
CCRKBA to Piers Morgan: ‘Your plane is waiting’

Global Jihad in Syria: Disputes Amidst a Common Goal
By INSS
Various assessments about how and when the Assad dynasty will come to an end and what reality will reign in Syria thereafter continue to be published, joining the numerous predictions of the past year and anticipating the assessments that will no doubt continue to emerge until the struggle in the divided country is concluded. At the same time, the indecision of the Western countries, headed by the US, about which policy should be pursued, what type of aid would be most effective for the Syrian opposition elements, and how it should be given, also continues. These opposition elements include Islamic factions whose religious affiliation ranges between identification with the Muslim Brotherhood and global jihad factions identified with the Salafi-jihadist movement.
Political Climate Change Reaching Tipping Point
By Guest Column
Tuesday’s vote [by the European parliament] has provoked much soul searching about the bloc’s devotion to an issue that once topped its agenda and shaped its self-image. These days, it is accepted that global warming has been consigned to a seat in the waiting room while the EU tends to a chronic economic crisis that has threatened the single currency and increased unemployment. Tuesday’s vote is only the latest evidence of how a crisis-hit continent’s appetite for climate change policies appears to have faded in recent months.—Joshua Chaffin, Pilita Clark and Neil Hume, Financial Times, 18 April 2013 [Registration Required]
How Rockefellers battle the Keystone pipeline
By Guest Column
Americans concerned about gasoline prices were encouraged by the Pew Research Center’s new poll, whose headline blared, “Keystone XL Pipeline draws broad support.” A score box showed 63% supporting and only 23% opposing the pipeline that would transport oil from Canada’s vast Alberta oil sands deposits through the Plains states to Texas refineries.
