(Before It's News)

So the space craft is readied and is going to fly away. Well, there are only two things that are going to happen after it flies into space: They manage to land on a planet and find nothing but space dirt; or they fly for a few hours then crash. There is simply no way that space exploration is going to achieve anything.

It is dubious whether the space industry will ever produce anything useful from exploration. That aside, one of the main problem with space exploration for me is the enormous cost of money. Billions of dollars funded by governments are flooding into space exploration, while other parts of society that need help like feeding people in poverty are left alone to die. It’s like almost as if space exploration is a priority. It is no expection. These billions of dollars could instead be directed towards the society as a whole, and balancing it, which would lead to many more beneficial results.

If the space industry ever wanted to actually make it into space, more effort should be put into research, not flying. More efficient technology means doing everything through more direct means, which would also improve science and society, costing less money. Take Galileo, Newton, Einstein: why are they so important and famous? It’s simply because they made doing and understanding something itself easier. People used to look at stars, just seeing bright lights, but when Galileo started using a telescope, he suddenly realized the sky was much different from appearance. Same as space research, improve the means and you’ll suddenly realize it’s all different.

However, the difficulty posed by seeking better technology is something recognize. If understanding is hard, then creating something while abiding by transparent rules of logic and common sense is two times as hard. The trick to this is to actually think about things before moving on to new ideas.
