Seems the Tri-State airport laser bandits are at it again. At least four NORE flights over New York and New Jersey reported being illuminated by lasers this week.
Four more planes and their pilots were hit with lasers while flying over New York and New Jersey. The FAA has alerted area police about the latest laser-related incidents, which took place between 9:25pm and 12:10am on Tuesday into Wednesday.
This raises the total number of attacks on commercial flights to 20 during a one week period.
Twelve commercial flights have reported that lasers illuminated their aircraft on July 15th as they flew over New Jersey. Amd four other flights were hit with lasers on July 16th while flying near Philadelphia.
Pointing lasers into the cockpit of a plane is a federal crime, with a maximum sentence of five years in jail possible.
This brings the total number of reported these laser incidents to twenty in the last week.
