CHRISTIAN CALL TO ACTION!!!
HALLOWEEN is coming up. We have tried for years to celebrate creativity in costumes, candy etc. and steer the focus away from the evil meaning of the day. We have done a great job. NOW EVIL HAS STOLEN THE CLOWNS…yep.. the clowns.
So CALL TO ACTION is this.. on October 31st..and your Trick or Treat night and parties..DO THIS…DRESS LIKE A DISCIPLE!!! It is simple. Take a sheet that is white or light beige and stain it. Why? When Christ returns we will be wearing stained sackcloth and given brand new pure white robes. Even if this is an analogy, we can see the intense meaning of the comparison. A Christian here is stained with the ways of this world and when we are with Christ we are new and clean & made so by Our Savior.
MAKE IT CHEAP…SEE
After you stained/dirtied thesheet,( it should not be white..not now) fold it over in half. Fold it at the half mark of the long (foot to head of bed) way. Go to the center of the fold line and cut a small head hole. Try it on. Does the hole need to be bigger? Make it a little bigger. Check it again. Repeat until it is right. Do not cut too big in the beginning.
Put on sheet and choose a belt( rope would be good) and tie belt around waist. Lift arms so fabric comes out over belt and this will make sleeves and shorten length of your sheet robe. Keep it simple with hair, little make up, sandals if weather allows. Please wear pants and shirt etc. underneath as this is a symbolic robe and not real clothing.
LET THE WORLD KNOW WE ARE EVERYWHERE ….not just here or there… EVERYWHERE!!!…
ONE BODY OF CHRIST….. dress at work, meetings everything… why not? People wear crazy costumes to these events at Halloween?? So our robes are heart felt God’s Truth? So…your choice???

We have been told since the Old Testament of simple sackcloth robes when accepting God. 2 Kings and
Jonah 3;6
For when the king of Nineveh heard what Jonah was saying, he stepped down and laid aside his royal robes and put on sackcloth and sat in ashes.
Revelation 7;14
“These are the ones coming out of the Great Tribulation, “ he said; “ they washed their robes and whitened them by the blood of the lamb.”
