Top reasons to have an all inclusive holiday in the Maldives

(Before It's News)

As a gorgeous archipelago in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is the kind of destination most of us dream of visiting. It’s one of those places that holds the promise of amazing weather and the chance to experience a true slice of paradise. Here are my top reasons to visit the Maldives.

Beautiful islands, gorgeous weather

Comprising around 1,000 islands stretched across 26 main atolls, the Maldives is, for most people, virtually synonymous with paradise. These beautiful little isles are famous for being utterly unspoilt, and here you can enjoy seaside landscapes strewn with palm trees and unbelievably calm lagoons.

The turquoise waters here are crystal clear and teeming with marine life, while the tropical climate means the year-round average temperature is a balmy 28 degrees C. While that doesn’t translate to perfect sunshine every minute of the day, it does mean that holidays are pretty much always warm.

One crucial thing to be aware of being booking your break, though, is that there are two monsoon seasons. These generally affect June and August, and November to April. That said, timings can vary across the islands, so it’s worth just double checking this with your travel agent before you book.

Luxurious resorts

A key ingredient of any decent all inclusive break is having good-quality resorts to choose from. Fortunately, the establishments here are actually one of the main attractions of the Maldives.

In fact, if there’s one destination I think really knows how to do all inclusive right, it’s this one. The Maldives is famous for being a luxurious holiday spot, so while you may not find particularly cheap all inclusive accommodation, you are likely to come across places that offer really good value for money.

After all, the Maldives can be expensive, so all inclusive packages can really save you money. Plus, depending on where you stay, you’re likely to find things like the use of a spa, water sports and other appealing extras thrown in for good measure.

As a quick tip, several of the resorts here (like the Adaaran Club Rannalhi on the South Male Atoll), offer bungalows that stand directly over lagoons. These are unbeatable for romantic breaks.

Amazing water sports facilities

Another top reason to come to the Maldives is that it is an absolutely incredible destination for water sports – scuba diving in particular. In fact, each (populated) island has a scuba diving centre, which means that it’s easy for beginners to learn the basics and more experienced divers to get some practice.

There are several great dive spots to look out for, but among the most famous are Banana Reef (which is also fantastic for snorkelling) on the North Male Atoll, and Fish Head. This one is also known as Mishimasmingali Thila, and it’s home to anemones, black coral and grey reef sharks.

Seclusion and privacy

My final top reason to choose the Maldives for an all inclusive break is the level of seclusion and privacy you can enjoy on holidays here. The main reason for this is that, by law, there is only one resort per island. So, you never have to battle for your spot on the beach!

Of course, this makes it a particularly brilliant for romantic getaways, since you get to feel like you’ve got your very own paradise, but in reality it’s just as perfect for anyone seeking utter relaxation.
