Underwater sculpture artwork from underwater diving instructor and sculpture artist Jason deCaires Taylor

-Jason deCaires Taylor is known for his underwater sculptures based on which he created the first underwater sculpture park (Grenada, West Indies) in 2006. After being born in 1974 to an English father and Guyanese mother, he was brought up in Europe and Asia.

 

-He spent his childhood exploring Malaysian Coral Reefs. After getting his BA Honors in Sculpture fromLondon Institute of Arts in 1998, he goes on to becoming a diving instructor.

 

-Today, Taylor has over 17 years of experience in underwater diving and is known for his underwater photography where he would puts his sculptures amongst the underwater ocean life and depict how these sculptures become part of the life underwater.

- Jason deCaires Taylor’s recent exhibitions were “Astrophysis” in Rivera Gallery, California with artworks from eight other artists also on display from 15th Oct- 1st December, 2011 and Solo Exhibition in Jonathan LeVine Gallery, New York.
