55 and “Laid Off.” Now What?

Especially in the high-tech world, people over 50 are often seen as over the hill.
In my PsychologyToday.com article today, I offer the advice I typically give to older employees who have been laid off.

now what? mail resumes, use the job boards on the internet, go to work finding a job. If you have got skills, there is a need somewhere…
nobody hiring? Go get a real estate license and sell, sell, sell…plan on working 60-70 hours a week to begin to make it.
