Geologists discovered the mountain Oahu in Hawaiian islands dissolved water present underground. The study refutes previous research which says that the smaller Hawaii islands due to erosion.

Brigham Young University geologist Steve Nelson said they were trying to figure out how fast the Hawaiian islands will disappear and what the climate at this time.

Oahu Koolau and Waianae mountain in Hawaii could be an island, such as Midway flat plains without mountains. But all was not caused by erosion, scientists say that the mountains of Oahu is actually dissolved water from the soil. The results are published Brigham Young University which was released on December 28, 2012.

Erosion research in the Hawaiian Islands also test the soil to the river to see what minerals are affected by soil erosion. Nelson and his colleagues have spent the past two months to take samples from both types of sources. Then, soil and water is on the surface (according to the U.S. Geological Survey estimates) to help them calculate the total mass of the islands is lost every year.

Hawaiian Islands are all made from one type of stone, weathering rate is very variable and highly variable rainfall, this should be a great natural laboratory, the impact can cause a low-lying islands.
