The ability to time travel has many implications with regard to terrorism, crime, politics, war, weather, health, etc.
(Note: The following is a TRUE and ACCURATE account of events as they actually occurred.)
On October 11, 2006, a small airplane struck a high rise in New York City in the early afternoon, sending fear and panic into the hearts of many as it suddenly reminded us all over again of the horrible events that had taken place on 9/11 just five years earlier. Were we now under another terrorist attack? As the public was to learn later, the answer was no. The plane, which was piloted by New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle, had apparently flown too close to the building and crashed.
Following the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the U.S. had been on high alert especially against other potential terrorist threats from the air that might involve the use of aircraft as in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Many people noticed at the time of this newest incident, however, that the government’s response to this potentially serious threat was strangely muted, sending up just a single fighter jet. Why? The answer may well lie in the following revelation.
On the morning of that same day, I had just finished meeting with unnamed U.S. Secret Service agents at the White House less than three hours before the crash occurred. Having arrived in Washington, D.C., two days earlier, I had come to discuss national security issues with White House officials and to inform them of the airplane crash that was going to occur in the city of New York.
I was met by three Metropolitan D.C. police officers initially upon my arrival at the White House. The officers left, however, as soon as the Secret Service agents arrived. During my meeting with the agents, which lasted about an hour, I informed them only that “something big is about to happen and people are going to think that it is another terrorist attack, but no matter what happens, it will not be another terrorist attack.” I also told the agents that I would only discuss the details of this impending incident with White House officials.
After some deliberation, the agents informed me that I had given them enough information and that it would not be necessary for me to speak further with White House officials. Finally, I was asked to sign four blank forms that the agents said they would fill out later regarding our discussion. I signed the forms. Meanwhile, the sky had turned an ominous gray and the wind had picked up considerably as a big storm moved in rapidly from the southwest. And so, I used this opportunity to take my leave.
A short while later, the television and radio networks were buzzing with news of the horrifying airplane crash as they tried frantically to gather more information. Tensions were running high and the fear was noticeably palpable as everyone wondered if there was still more to come. No one from the White House ever contacted me, however, or anyone else for that matter, after the airplane crash occurred.
