Fear keeps you in a hyper aware state, drowning you in adrenaline, shutting off your power to think, analyse and plan. Our fear mongers and social engineers love to have us is such a distracted, ulnerable and fearful state.
They use fear as a tool, and have for hundreds of years. Technology has allowed the fearmongers to live in our homes, in our cars, and to take over our lives. We are sitting ducks.
According to the Urban Dictionary, a fearmonger is:
One who spreads the idealogy of fear through propoganda to fulfill a concealed agenda. Similar to a terrorist, but it fights with information and not direct violence. Politicians, media personas, and internet posters can all be fearmongers.
Fearmongers are information terrorists. They spread chaos and destruction with words, often tapping into our fear of the “other”. And our talking heads, politicians and opportunists are working our nerves, profiting from our fear, and stirring the pit of nativisim, homophobia and hate–all at a profit, of course.

One analyst says
what is now happening is that you have well-fed politicians who know precisely what they are doing which is trying to create a wedge issue. Because stirring up hatreds against a group can motivate chunks of the electorate to race to the polls to try and save America from those they have been convinced must be fellow travelers of that group — or even without evidence — a member of the group that has been unfairly demonized. Wedge issues — used by both parties but most effectively by the GOP since the days of Richard Nixon — are highly effective in politics. Read more
