Dear Readers;

Letting go of your pets because of old age, diseases, death or because you can not take care of them anymore has never been easy for anyone.

PuCkEr W-U -F-F-UP!

As you all know this is exactly what Terania and I are forced to do and this breaks our hearts.  The wonderful memories will stay with us for ever… We took  trips to Florida so far and we spoke to  many real estate agents helping us to find a rental where dogs are allowed. But with the HOA, its either no dogs or a very small dog like Lady.

The Dr. Turi and Dr. Draco H20 Experiment

But when you own such large breed, or a Doberman and a Rottweiler, usually their “vicious” reputation also follow them closely.  But Draco and Macho are gentle loving giants! Thus we gave up looking for a rental in Florida as long as we have our pets.

DRACO AND MACHO

We could purchase another house in the Sunshine State and take our dogs with us you may suggest, but there are two valid  reasons why these options won’t work! First we already own a house in Arizona that is for currently posted on Craigslist for rent.

Selling it now means losing a fortune to some local shrewd investors who would never give me my asking price and make a bundle reselling it later on. I would rather keep this house for Terania in case of something happen to me and God calls me back home.

The second reason is, while I am an intellectual turbocharged writer, since winning over cancer and still currently battling Valley Fever and pneumonia, at 65 I do not have the strenght I used to have to work around the house, and take care of my dogs like I used to do.

Taking care of a house is endless, there is always something that must be done, especially if you have trees, a yard, 2 bigs dogs and a big pool.

Thus, it comes down to this, its the dogs or us!

I received so many requests for those wonderful dogs, but we are very cautious and want to make sure those dogs do not end up in the wrong hands.

Terania and I thought we finally found the right family from Tucson, but  the initial meeting took place in a waning moon and nothing positive came out of this meeting. They were quite excited at the beginning and truly loved our dogs but when they found out who we were, what we stand for and my profession, they did not want to associate with us and what we represent anymore.

Sad because I truly liked this family and even invited them to visit us in Florida once established. They started to ask questions about breeding championships papers work, our doctors vets names and a bunch of silly questions…

I took Macho to the vet this morning and, like Draco he is now neutered!  Why would they wonder about legitimacy championships paperwork if those dogs can not breed any longer?  Why would I lie about anything about my dogs?  Terania and I began to  feel they did not trust us or simply looking for an excuse because they had a change of heart!

We were supposed to meet in Tucson a few days later (good moon) for dinner, and when I think I was going to surprise them by giving  my dog trailer for free, I am glad their true nature came up earlier.

I worked on this trailer the best way I could and purchased expansive chrome wheels, a shell and new tires, but ultimately I had it customized to look like my black Hummer. While on the road, people are mesmerized and take pictures of both the dogs and the trailer.

Thus I was about to give away $2000 (today’s price) worth with breed Champion values and my customized trailer for another $3000!

It's a DoGgY - dOg World

How can you not feel sad looking at your past with your pets?  I turned down a few people interested who wanted to see the dogs last week end too, but again there are no accidents! Our wish is to first to find the right, reliable, decent, caring people who truly love and respect animals and if at all possible in Florida so we could once in a while visit them.

This is where I wish I could win the lottery and keep my dogs but we have to go through this experience! This would be healthy both for the animals and us and help in the transition. But at this point, Arizona is also a possibility because all I ask is to help me with the expenses if I have to drive to Florida to bring the dogs…

Let's dance with Terania

Letting go of any pet is extremely difficult emotionally because you associate the animals with wonderful memories you can not always let go.

Daddy & the Doggies

Letting Draco and Macho go is like dying inside, like a new section of our and their lives is taking place and holding tears is not always an option… They represent who we truly are, a special breed of powerful, dedicated spiritual human you can only love or hate!  Judge us for who we are, not for what we do!

Swimming with daddy

But I can not be greedy, those dogs need room and love and while they have plenty love from us, they have no enough room in our backyard. Nice, caring,  trustworthy people and plenty room is all they need so my dogs can live happy ever after with their new family! They love to swim, in the river or the pool!

Real Smart Doggies

They are very disciplined and will not eat until I tell them to do so! Pets are like kids, they are a reflection of the intelligence of their parents and those dogs are very well mannered. Thus if you can help us finding that home, please do so! [email protected]

Blessings to all

Dr. Turi
