Ancient Aliens In Egypt -
Ridley Scott’s New Movie “Pharaoh” Influenced By The Ancient Astronauts Theory
It was announced on Thursday, April 24 that Ridley Scott, the director of Alien, Prometheus and Blade Runner, is developing a new TV series for HBO, focusing on alien activity in ancient Egypt.
Scott will serve as executive producer and director on the upcoming Pharaoh, set to explore the rise of Egypt and the influence extra-terrestrials had on the highly advanced culture.
Two years ago, Ridley Scott explored the possibility that aliens created life on Earth – and that one of those aliens might have been Jesus – in Prometheus.
Later this year, he will tackle the story of Moses, the Egyptian prince who turns against the royal family that raised him, in Exodus: Gods and Kings.
Now imagine him putting those two stories together.
In his movie Pharaoh, Ridley Scott explores extraterrestrial influence in ancient Egypt.
Ridley Scott says his new movie is influenced by the theory that aliens have “helped” humanity advance to its current level of civilization.
Scott is proponent of ancient alien theories.
His film Prometheus was partially inspired by the writings of legendary Swiss author Erich von Däniken who is known for his books like Chariots of the Gods and Gods From Outer Space. Von Däniken is also a regular talking head on History Channel’s Ancient Aliens.
“The drama explores an alternate explanation for the foundation and ascent of the ancient Egyptian empire – one in which greatness was bestowed upon us by beings from another world, calling into question what it means to be a “god.”
The project was co-created by Giannina Facio and Colet Abedi, who will exec produce alongside Scott and David Zucker for Scott Free, “The Hollywood Reporter explains.
Scott is currently directing a seemingly related film titled Exodus: Gods and Kings, scheduled to be released in December 2014.
