Up until about 500 years ago, there was only one explanation for the origin of the universe and of mankind and animals. And this explanation was Bible based. The belief was that the earth was the center of the universe and that the sun traveled around the earth producing day, night, and seasons. It was also believed that the earth was flat and not a globe. Although over the years there were some that proposed other ideas, the main belief by far was this one.
Then about 500 years ago, Copernicus proposed that the earth was one of several planets that traveled around the sun which was the center of the universe. The exact opposite to what was believed. He didn’t publish his theory until just before his death for fear of ridicule and it sat dormant for almost one hundred years. Then others like Tycho Brahe, Galileo, Keppler, Newton, and Einstein picked up on it and it eventually gained acceptance among the scientific community and the general public.
Since then, we now have two theories which offer explanations for how the universe was formed, the origin of man, and our solar system. Unfortunately, only the scientific theory has been taught in schools for many years now, and it has also been taught as fact, even though it is only theory. Because there is only one explanation, students assume that it is fact. This is why so many believe in the Big Bang, Sun centered universe, and Evolution. It’s what we were all taught and because we had nothing to compare it to, we didn’t question it.
For the past few years though, many are starting to question the validity of what science has determined to be the origins of man and the universe, and are comparing both theories. By doing so, they are finding that there are many unanswered questions regarding the Big Bang universe belief and wondering if the earth centered universe might be indeed correct. They are comparing the probability of various scenarios to both theories instead of just believing that what we were taught. They want answers in their quest for truth. And so goes the ongoing debate regarding the Big Bang and Evolution compared to the Divine Creation Story. Using basic scientific principles, common sense, and observation, many are claiming they can disprove the current scientific explanations for the origin of man and the universe and are embracing the flat earth theory while others are entirely opposed to the idea and consider flat earthers as being complete idiots.
Since neither can be proven, the only way to settle the debate is to compare one to the other and decide which one you think is the true one. They can’t both be right, nor can they be integrated, they are opposites. Because many have not been exposed to the version which dominated the world for thousands of years before Copernicus, I have put together a comparison of Biblical and Scientific data that presents both the scientific and the pre-Copernicus explanations.
