Carol Blue-GarciaI am do sorry. This is like a personal assault. Stay safe. My van was broken into a few years ago. All they got was my Bible and some Christian music. Still very personal. Stay safe.
Charlotte VincerWill pray and send out prayers from others to keep you safe. Isn’t it ironic that the same group that claim racism from the ‘right’ are the same that inflict this kind of hate?
Cathy Bibinoff SpencerOh no Brenda…I’m sorry to see this level of hate directed at such a good woman like yourself. Take a deep breath and dig in those heels. Prayers for you.
Marguerite Porteus Winterif others did this to your car…karma..will pay them back…their hate is more important than their upbringing…they will reap what they sow..and it will be tenfold…what you give out..you always get back.
Walt Schneider Been there too. Had two motorcycles stolen. My truck stolen. Same truck broken into to steal the ashtray???? (but not stolen the second time). Ex’s car broken into to steal the stereo.
All thieves, must be drawn and quartered. Hope your insurance can make things a little better.
Daniel Noblett@ Robert, I highly doubt Brenda has a Obama sticker on that car. I figure you may be making a joke. But that is not a laughing matter. Could be political, or not, who knows.
Tina-Smart RollinsBrenda I am so sorry, I feel your pain. The moment we went on the air we started getting serious death threats and they have not stopped. You should do like I did and get a concealed weapons permit and start carrying if you don’t already.

This is what happen the 1st time…lightning story
MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP{
Brenda Battle Jordan, a Republican candidate in the 8th District county commissioner’s race, said they were inside when a tree limb crashed down on the utility lines above their front yard shortly after 10 p.m.
It’s uncertain whether it was a lightning strike or high winds that caused the tree limb to break. But it knocked a secondary power line across the home’s cable TV and phone lines, melting the insulated covering and energizing the steel conductor inside.
“The lines never touched the ground, ” said Consumers Energy spokesman Tim Pietryga. “But when those two lines crossed it went up the line and caused the aluminum siding on the house to be energized.”
A man who saw the incident ran up to the house to warn the homeowners of the burning tree and arcing power lines.
When he knocked on the front door, the trapped voltage raced into his body, knocking him to the ground.

MT. MORRIS TWP. – Ken and Brenda Jordan knew they were among thousands of Genesee County residents who lost power during Wednesday night’s storm.
What they didn’t know was that crossed utility lines had turned their W. Pierson Road home into a potential death trap – both for them and the neighbors who tried to help.
“He tried to warn us and ended up electrocuted. Then a neighbor on the other side got thrown back when he tried to warn us, ” said Jordan. “A neighbor did get a call in to us, and we answered the phone and turned the light on in the bedroom. That’s when they realized someone was in there and needed to come out.
“But even once the authorities got there, they couldn’t come in. No one could come in.”
Neighbor Vincent Bell was sitting in his living room watching the storm when he heard a deafening boom.
“I saw smoke in the pouring rain, and next thing I knew, firemen and police were everywhere, ” said Bell.
The electrocution victim was still lying next to the front door when emergency crews arrived.
“He was lying in a pool of water on the porch, and there was fire on the utility pole. But it was raining so hard you couldn’t tell if the lines were down on the house or not, ” said District 2 Fire Chief Rick Johnson. “If rescuers had started moving in, it could’ve caused a chain reaction of everyone getting electrocuted.”
The man, whose identity was not released, was conscious and able to move himself out of the water puddle, to where rescuers could safely reach him.
“We have fiberglass poles with hooks so in a worst case scenario we can snatch their clothing and pull them away. Here we were lucky he was able to get clear of it himself, ” said Johnson.
“The homeowners could hear us outside telling them to stay away from the door. We told them to stay in the house and not turn anything on, and reassured them everything was going to be fine.”
Consumers Energy crews were able to shut down the power, freeing the Jordans trapped inside.
Officials said the man, whose identity has not been released, was treated at Hurley Medical Center and is believed to be recovering.
Getting hit with the 240 volts carried on a secondary line isn’t typically fatal unless the victim stays in contact for a long period or is in bad health, Johnson said.
“They’re lucky it wasn’t one of the big babies that run alongside the road that carry anywhere from 18 to 38,000 volts. If it’d been that, he wouldn’t have gotten back up off that porch.”
Bell said he’s still worried about the other overgrown trees in front of the short row of houses.
“I called Consumers Energy twice in July. They told me they’d already been through here for this year, and we’d have to wait, ” Bell said, pointing up at the tangle of power lines and massive oak limbs just a few feet in front of his house.
“I understand they’ve got a lot to do, and if something goes wrong, they’ll be right here on the spot just like they were this time, ” he said. “But what good does that do if me or my wife gets killed?
“If the weather ever comes again like it did, that’s what I’m worried about.”
