You may not remember her as a solo artist, but you’ve definitely heard of her as 1/3 of the 90s girl group 702 They had a string of hits including “Get It Together”, “Steelo”, “Where My Girls At?” The group originally consisted of twin sisters, Irish, Orish (who passed in 2008, due to kidney failure), their older sister LaMisha and their cousin Amelia. Meelah, a friend of the family, was later added and was part of the group’s trio that was at the height of their success. They were also featured on the early 90s hit “This Lil Game We Play” with short-lived group, Subway. 702′s last recorded CD was Star, released in 2003, failed to make a big impact on the charts.
But Meelah, not one to be held down, is determined to still sing. There hasn’t been a confirmed CD release date, but the song, “I Should Let You Go” surfaced a few months ago and it has really grown on me.
