Everyone seems to think they are an expert or well informed on every issue out there. The truth is, this country has become far too reliant on technology and has quickly faded away from the was we used to be. What happened to listening to your uncle or father on world affairs and coming up with your own individual opinion. That does not exist. What people do now is a google search of an issue or look at their favorite news website to find the answers. There really are no independent views anymore. All we have are talking points being reitterated through facebook and other social forums until these opinions become “fact”. The only fact is that parents are on their phones and internet too much and spend far less time with their kids than they should. What happened to waiting for Grandma to call after dinner or to tell you news you’ve been waiting to hear(doesn’t happen because you’ve already recieved a text from your cousin or mother about it). The problem is that these issues will only become worse as technology gets better(or worse in my opinion). What happens when people can do google searches in their retina via a contact lense that projects information much like an iphone. Why do we even need higher education at this point when all the information we could ever want will be right in front of us in a seconds notice.
