I believe Christmas gifts, and spending money, you do, or don’t have on a holiday is NOT a necessity. Society as a whole puts so much stress on us all, telling us what we need to do to have a wonderful holiday. It’s all a load of crap! People get depressed because they can’t live up to societies expectations. Alot of suicides are during the holidays. It’s all so sad. Here is how Christmas began~http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_and_how_did_Christmas_start . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas . You have a choice on how or if you celebrate. Live and celebrate within your emotional, spiritual, & financial means. Once you accept living on your terms with the holidays they become easier & less stressful, I know because I did it! It takes awhile to un do the brain washing of society, but once you do it is so freeing! My kids put up a tree. I bake orange rolls and coffee on Christmas morning, & we do open presents which are one to 2 gifts each. Nothing big. I used to have a birthday party for Jesus on Christmas even, but my thoughts have changed and I no longer do that, not to mention it was way too many goodies, we didn’t need cake & ice cream too!
