Destiny’s Child Makes A “Nuclear” Comeback?
It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard from Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle as a collective. The last time Destiny’s Child ruled the charts, they were losing their breath on the dance floor, looking for a soldier and catering to their man. Their destiny was fulfilled and put on the shelve in 2005 when the group decided to call it quits and pursue their solo endeavors. Not surprisingly, Beyonce has made the most media headlines since then. The super front woman of Destiny’s Child has gotten married, had a baby, released the critically acclaimed 4 album (one of her best in my opinion), received a fat $50 million check from Pepsi, and most recently found herself as the object of many men’s eyes on the latest GQ Magazine cover. Her presence screams through the pages as if to say, “What baby?! My body has always looked like this”. Oh but I forgot, this is not all about Beyonce, right? Kelly has made some huge noise on the radio with her single “Ice”, featuring Lil Wayne and guest spots on songs with Ludacris and Future. Plus, her Year of the Woman CD is set to drop early this year. Michelle….she’s been the one to garner the least media spotlight since the group disbanded. But she did release her first non gospel album,Unexpected, in 2008, to rave reviews but not so rave sales.
