NRA Refuses to Support 2nd Amendment Grass Roots Effort

(Before It's News)

It appears that the NRA is only concerned about making money and being just another special interest group than supporting real efforts by people that want their rights protected.  Particularly their second amendment rights.

There has been a HUGE outcry by many people on the social media especially Facebook but all over the place including shamestream media and alternative news outlets about our second amendment rights. Many of these outlets allow people to post reponses to the articles of the day and as you can imagine, the fight over our rights to keep and bear arms is at a boiling point. A huge number of people are warning that if any laws or executive order get passed, there will be a civil war. It is nothing to scoff at and the people making the posts are serious and there are a LOT of them.

A facebook group called 2nd Right is a group for supporters of the second amendment that started the planned national demonstration and many people have signed up to attend from all 50 states. You can go to their demonstration page as well if you wish to be a part of the fight to protect your right to keep and bear arms.

In an effort to get more backing and spread the word of this peaceful event, I contacted the NRA on their facebook page. Below is the conversation that took place and what the NRA had to say about their refusal to show their support for the grass roots effort.

Me: “Please make the time to attend this event in your state and share it with all your friends.”

NRA: “Historically marches have not been too successful. In fact there was a march on the Capitol Mall in 2010 that might have attracted a few thousand participants. The most important thing you can do right now is to directly contact your members of Congress in opposition to any gun ban. In addition, it’s important that you contact your state lawmakers as well. http://www.nraila.org/get-involved-locally/grassroots/write-your-reps.aspx”

At this point I started to become angry at hearing nothing more than the typical big corporate talk. If groups like this would get involved in the marches like this that have historically “not been too successful” they would “Historically” be more successful and we wouldn’t be facing the threats we are now facing. Not every gun owner is a member of the NRA and this is one of the reasons why. Personally I much prefer the GOA (Gun Owner of America) who are a MUCH better supporter of our second amendment rights.

I replied back to the NRA.

Me: “Historically we have not been faced with what they are planning to do right now. We even have a president that thinks he will be able to use executive order to go around congress. Perhaps you are not paying attention to what a great many people are saying in response to what is going on. We are now preparing for another civil war. These marches might be more successful if people like you would get behind them. Are you simply afraid to step out in fear of looking bad? Or is it that you care more about making money than really taking part in something that will directly make a difference when the people en masse show up on the steps of their state’s capitols. You can refuse to help this cause if you wish and I will be happy to report to my constituents and all the other people that follow me that you refused to support them.”

This was their response to this:

NRA: “Bobby, your comments have no ground. Right now the most ffective thing we can do is use our resources to lobby Congress to ensure our rights aren’t stripped away. Elected officials don’t care about marches; they need to hear from their constituents directly.”

Now I am really angry because there is no better way to “DIRECTLY” contact our representatives than to go “DIRECTLY” to our state capitols and let them know what we have to say “DIRECTLY” as the NRA had put it.  I had a blistering response to what they had just told me. We have all seen just how lobbying our reps in congress has worked out.

Me: “Is that your reason for NOT supporting us? The people in this demonstration are willing to and have used every method short of violence in contacting our reps. All we ever get is one of their form mail responses. Many times I have called and they simple hang up and the rep is NEVER EVER there to talk to you directly. We have an out of control government that is controlled only by how much money they can acquire and special interests. With the exception of a very few, none of them have upheld their oaths. If 10,000 people with guns showed up to demonstrate at your HQ doors, do you really think that would not get your attention? War is brewing in this country and you need to wake up to that fact. Many sheriffs around the country are now stepping out and publicly stating that they will not obey any laws that will infringe on our rights especially our second amendment rights. You need to step out of your box some time and take a real good look at what a LOT of people are saying all over the social media especially facebook. This march is an attempt to not only let our elected officials in our states know that we retain the will to fight if necessary but hopefully to prevent another civil war. What on earth could it possibly do to harm you to show a little support for the people that are the real arm bearers in our country? What will you say if they do get anymore gun laws passed or executive orders signed? We should talk to our congressmen? File a suit in supreme court? We have all seen where that has all gotten us. How about showing some support for somebody else other than yourselves?”

I should have known better than to ask the NRA for any kind of help. In the past they have worked with the government to do the exact thing that they propose they are against. To pass laws that violate our second amendment rights. I put the NRA in the same group as AARP. AARP supported the passing of Obamacare and the NRA has supported laws that infringed on our rights to keep and bear arms as it is written in the US Constitution. The PEOPLE are the militia but I doubt the NRA understands this. They are more concerned about keeping their membership growing and making money than actually supporting the second amendment like the GOA does. I also MUCH prefer AMAC over the lying money grabbers of AARP.
