It’s been a few years since we’ve heard any new music from neo soul artist India Arie. Her last album, Testimony, Vol 2: Love & Politics, was released in 2009 and she’s managed to keep a very low profile shortly after its release. Now she’s back again with a new album on the way, lead by the first single, “Cocoa Butter”. Coincidentally (or maybe not), the single’s cover finds her baring more skin than ever before. The appropriately titled mid tempo cut showcases why artists like India Arie can take a few years off and come back like they never left. The song is catchy, mellow and soulful all at once. Her new album, SongVersation (love that titled by the way) is set to drop on June 25, 2013.
