I like to think of Jesse Ventura as my crazy uncle. His Liberal views and Democrat affinities drive me crazy but he’s honest and has a heart for the common citizen and for that I adore him.
But it wasn’t until “Tru TV” produced the docu-drama Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura that I really fell in love with the man. In regards to pulling the curtain down to see who really makes things happen in America and why, they were some of the best shows I’d ever seen. You know you’re striking at “the man” when you invest time and money into episodes that get pulled at the last minute or they play games with your air time to minimize your audience.
In the third season Jesse’s son Tyrel and Sean Stone, son of director Oliver Stone joined the cast.
Now if Jesse’s Liberal leanings drive me crazy, Oliver Stone’s anti-American antics make me apoplectic. When Sean “converted to Islam” in Iran I figured, “Well now there’s a chip off the old Eastern Block.”
But I had to say that Sean and Tyrel were great and young Stone won me over. They came across as good, open-minded investigators which was what I wanted as a “truth seeker”.
Season 3 (minus the episode critical of the TSA) ended all too quickly. Although the former Minnesota Governor generously uploaded several episodes to his YouTube Channel, I wanted more. I harangued my wife until I was able to download each one on iTunes (she holds the purse strings).
It still wasn’t enough.
Then I saw that Tyrel had interviewed his dad (love it when he breaks from “Jesse” and calls him “dad”) for a new internet variety/news show called “Buzzsaw”. Could this be a continuation of what I so enjoyed?
Unfortunately, the answer has been, “yes” but more often, “no”.
Sean Stone continued to impress me with serious, open-minded investigation into all kinds of unusual subject matter…like the role Satanism has played in the United States government.
Tyrel (from what I saw of him) did a wonderful job of adding a fun, neutral persona to investigative news.
But the key figure behind Buzzsaw was producer Tabetha Wallace and in each episode it isn’t long before she devolves into an attack on Right-minded thinkers (like me) and the Tea Party.
I have to say, it crushed me.
And it’s illogical. The most burgeoning audience hungry for real news resides on the Right and is populated mostly by Christians. It is Evangelical Christians who already know Elites who hoard money and power hate you and fear you and will do all they can to sicken, impoverish and enslave you but secretly lest you find out and overthrow them.
This isn’t “conspiracy”, it’s human nature!
The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? ~ Jeremiah 17:9 (New Living Translation)
Peter said to Him, “Explain the parable to us.” Jesus said, “Are you still lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. These are the things which defile the man…” ~ Matthew 15:15-20 (New American Standard)
Unfortunately for me, Tabetha thought it was more important to use Buzzsaw as a platform for a personal agenda—which seems to be the problem at “LippTV” in general. Nearly half of the videos produced are hit pieces on Scientology, probably because someone there had a bad experience with the cult and is using the venue to exorcize their own demons rather than focusing on real news issues that will broaden the channel’s appeal.
Worse, there is no direct contact information for any of them, just a couple of addresses for “LOVE” or “HATE” e-mails.
But being in “alternative media”, myself, I didn’t want to just stop there. I was very excited to watch the episode entitled British Gov’t Pedophilia Conspiracy, Drone Strikes and Blackwater War Crimes. These were all topics that I knew would get to the heart of the evil that was running America and the world and such topics I had reported on, myself, in the past.
Sadly, within the first few minutes Tabetha started off on yet another anti-Right rant and I couldn’t watch anymore.
But rather than just give up, I thought I would try to get through via the “comments” section. I wanted to see Buzzsaw successful and gain a broader audience. Maybe if I appealed to Tabetha Wallace to court me as a potential viewer by toning down the “hate the Tea Party” rhetoric I could do some good.
Allas, after several rounds with someone who spent hours laboring over their YouTube moniker only to come up with “zthg4821” I did get a response from Miss Wallace.
Sadly, it was to accuse me of “slut shaming” her on abortion (cute, I haven’t ever seen that before) and attacking her religious views which I never did and aren’t even aware of.
Clearly, my heartfelt message of “I WANT TO LIKE YOUR SHOW. PLEASE STOP ATTACKING MY VALUES.” was not received.
And I am heartbroken because I must close the door on yet another rare source of real news.
UPDATE: Saturday, 02 November 2013; 09:16 AM, EST
Always leave room to be pleasantly surprised, and maybe even shocked.
I sent an e-mail to one of three available addresses; “HATE THE LIP”.
It came back to me “undeliverable”.
*mm-hmm* Well that’s a little disingenuous.
Still, I had invested a lot of what little free time I had to help these folks. Neither “HATE THE LIP” nor “LOVE THE LIP” was appropriate for my needs so I tried again with one of the other address.
Later that day I received a response from Lip founder Michael Lustig asking if he could call me to talk about what I had written because he agreed with much of what I said.
reeeeally…? That is an absolute first! I sent my phone number to Mike and a few hours later, he called. What a shocking contrast to nearly every other media personality I had ever not dealt with despite similar effort. I keep an extensive list of these arrogant misfits in my mind and many of them claim to be “Christians”.
Mike was a nice guy who said he wanted to stay away from partisan divisiveness. We had a great conversation and he sent me a follow-up e-mail to thank me.
Unprecedented.
It made me do some more thinking.
Later I wrote him an extensive reply that is really pertinent to anyone in this field. Sadly, it’s been two days and I haven’t heard back from him so I will repost some of that letter here:
Hey Mike.
The most important thing to me regarding this issue is your success (at least as far as I understand your goals).
You are on the cutting edge of the most important, burgeoning industry left in America (the only one growing besides banking and emergency response): alternative media—as in media that is not controlled and kept from giving the public the information they desperately need to see the dangers before them.
One of the things you told me was that your team has their First Amendment “freedom of speech”.
Of course they do! But when they sit in front of your cameras, it’s OK for you to set topics consistent with your vision.
I’m not privy to what that is, but you have the next generation of investigators, Sean Stone and Tyrel Ventura, after doing a phenomenal job with Jesse Ventura’s Conspiracy Theories. There is a niche for a “Season 4” that no one is filling!
If I had a team like that (as well as your other talented staff), I would say at the next “board” (or what we call in the military a “synch” meeting), “Here’s my agenda: WAKE PEOPLE UP. Now each of you backbrief me on how you’re going to do it and the parameters of this mission are…”
* Be sensational without exaggeration or hyperbole because that hurts credibility.
* Be entertaining without being baffoonish for the same reason.
* When appropriate, be funny or angry or upset but always understanding you are in front of a recording device.
* If at all possible, keep from being divisive. As far as “divisiveness” goes, it’s as I remarked to you on the phone: there are powerful agencies that use proxies to insert divisiveness as an extremely effective SOP (“standard operating procedure”). When a person or movement gets too effective they throw in, “IT’S THE JEWS!” or “IT’S THE JESUITS” or they pick a Shia enclave and plant rumors that their leadership has been taken over by Sunnis.
I was shocked when I found out that CIA operative John Lear, who had recently attacked former DoD historian Douglas Dietrich, was an avowed “anti-Zionist” and, smelling a rat, I exposed him in this column.
That’s not to say there aren’t Jews, Zionists or Jesuits in powerful positions doing evil and harm but, clearly, to exaggerate their scope in order to inflame mindless or racist emotions gets people to stop thinking logically and, again, hurts credibility.
The closer you get to the truth, the more trolls like this will come after you.
And the more you can be marginalized (as they did to Congressman Ron Paul, the “tin foil nutjob”), the less people will take you seriously.
I gave Tabetha a bit of a hard time for injecting a Tea Party slight in an important report I was interested in but another version was later released and it was phenomenal (with the exception of the title; those poor little kids are not paid, consenting adults they are sex slaves).
Are you kidding me?! Instead of protecting little children the frigging police are beating down whistleblowers and protecting the pervert perps?!!
Now that’s the kind of killer report that has a chance of going viral (and should whether it does or not).
It is in sharp contrast to this hit piece by Lissette Padilla.
I’m guessing most of your staff there leans to the Left. Certainly you don’t want them to stop being who they are, and, as a passionate Evangelical Christian and Tea Party Patriot I understand that some issues are just divisive. You will either be for or against abortion and there are tiny lives at stake (for those who are against it, anyway).
But maybe something like “gay marriage” can take a back seat to the fact that an über-rich Luciferian Elite is burning the midnight oil to poison, impoverish, enslave and kill American citizens and even world citizens.
By the way, allow me to make a partisan plug for my side of the abortion issue: the Satanists running the world like abortion, too.
As far as my misunderstanding in regards to your specials on Scientology, I think it’s a good agenda and perhaps could’ve been labeled as such with something like “Scientology EXPOSED”. When I just see clip after clip coming in to my inbox (I’m a YouTube subscriber) it just seems like someone has a thing for Scientology. But after your explanation, I would’ve had hosts regularly stating (along with appropriate titles for each clip) something like, “Scientology is one of the most popular religions in California/America with XX% of people adhering but our investigators have found some disturbing trends” such as the forced abortions, sexual abuse and so forth.
I’m sorry I don’t live out there, Mike, I’d love to stop in and talk face to face but e-mail and phone calls will have to do.
I’ll send that update to my column as soon as I can get it written. This was a higher priority for me because I felt it had the potential to do the most good.
Keep up the good work. Give my regards to the team and let me know if there’s anything I can ever to do help you.
~Johnny
Actually, I’m not sorry I don’t live in the People’s Republic of Mexipornia but I didn’t want to offend Mike.
The vast majority of people and institutions in the lime light fail miserably in making you feel like you matter—probably because, for most of them, you don’t. Alex Jones, for instance, claims he doesn’t even have e-mail (and then later he’ll slip up and start to say “send me an e-mail”).
And, apparently, even just a little bit of limelight is all one needs to think responding to e-mail is no-longer necessary. Not even unknown personalities bother to respond which, you would think, is pretty poor advertising and PR.
Now, trust me, I know what it’s like to be busy. I am not blessed to do this for a living. I have to cram out updates in the minutes before zipping to work. But I am manic about staying in touch with people and rewarding what little patronage I receive. That’s just good business!
Here’s a trick you can play (and I fell on this by accident); on several occasions I had invested a lot of time and effort to craft masterful, well-thought-out e-mails to some modest personality and thought, for sure, I’d at least get a “thanks, Johnny” or something. Then, if they claimed to be a Christian, I’d send a second e-mail that took them to task for failing to give a good Witness. On a couple of occasions, I got defensive responses which meant they did get the first e-mail and didn’t feel it was worth their time to spend 3 ½ seconds to acknowledge it.
For one personality, I really thought what I had sent her was great. She would definitely take a second to respond and maybe even communicate with the lowly peasant! She did not. Then, later, I rifled off an absent-minded critique about the photo she used to promote herself and how the glamour shot wasn’t appropriate for such an open Christian (looking back it was a stupid, frivolous thing to write). Boy she came back at me with a vengeance! That was a picture she was clinging to because she looked so much better than before she got breast cancer which she then compared to something debilitating about my private parts. I ___ you not! Lesson? —Don’t question a woman’s looks even if you aren’t married to them.
As far as target audiences for real news goes, there are some other reasons why Christians dominate the Freedom and Liberty movements: they are the originators and guardians of the “Protestant Work Ethic” that made America a super power. It can be summed up in one word: sacrifice.
Christians who take their Savior seriously were taught by Him that their own worst enemy is themselves and if they want to be free of tyranny, first give up what they want. If there is a decision to be made, usually the path that is the most painful is the one you are to take.
From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “G-d forbid it, L-rd! This shall never happen to You.” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on G-d’s Interests, but man’s.”
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My Sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” ~ Matthew 16:22-26 (NASB, abbreviation and capitalization added for respect)
One of the best examples available is that of abortion.
Those who are against abortion delve as deeply into facts and reality as possible, using sonograms and medical specifics while those against abortion use nebulous arguments about a “woman’s body” or “it’s wrong for me but I don’t want to push that on someone else”. They do that because they aren’t being truthful about their agenda. All they really want is sex without consequences.
So if you’re in “alternative media”, there is your target audience. But I must warn you, waking them up before it’s too late may prove next to impossible. They’re high on leeks and cucumbers.
It isn’t real news if they have a one-sided approach, look I think a great awakening is happening all across the country and these little left leaning nazi goose-steppers have that deer-in-the-headlight-look. It’s easy to spot them, when they no longer have a credible argument they show their true colors and lash out at their fellow Americans. I’m not a tea party member but the tea party must be doing something right. These nazi’s are sweating because real Americans see them for what they truly are. I personally don’t see anything wrong with lower taxes, and a smaller less intrusive government and that’s what the tea party is fighting for. When the SHTF these goose-steppers will be stamped out like ants.
