(Before It's News)

Scientists believe that supervolcanoes are unpredictable than regular volcanoes, then explode in any minute. A supervolcano is any volcano capable of producing a volcanic eruption with an ejecta volume greater than 1,000 km3 (240 cu mi). This is thousands of times larger than normal volcanic eruptions.  According to Infowars “Research papers published earlier this year reveal that a supervolcano like Yellowstone doesn’t need seismic shifts (felt as earthquakes) to trigger an eruption. Supervolcanoes are triggered by the buoyancy of their massive magma dome and Yellowstone’s magma dome is 2.5 x’s bigger than previously believed.”

Supervolcanoes can occur when magma in the mantle rises into thecrust from a hotspot but is unable to break through the crust, and pressure builds in a large and growing magma pool until the crust is unable to contain the pressure (this is the case for the Yellowstone Caldera).
