Following up his big screen success with a starring role opposite Timothy Olyphant on the FX series Justified, actor Nick Searcy embraces his role as a Hollywood anomaly. Via his often profanity-laced posts on social media, he skewers leftist activists and their policies in a devastating fashion unmatched by all but a select few of his fellow conservative entertainers.
Now that the fifth and final season of Justified has come to an end, Searcy is looking ahead to his behind-the-scenes role as the director of a film exposing the crimes of abortionist and convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell.
“There are three aspects to this story that are fascinating,” he said upon announcing his involvement in the project, “what happened, why it was allowed to happen, and why no one wanted to talk about it after it happened.”
Meanwhile, he is keeping busy on Twitter where, in addition to posting his own rants in 140 characters or fewer, he is more than happy to engage his critics in debate – or name-calling, depending on one’s perspective.
As the U.K. Telegraph pointed out, Searcy has taken on leftists within his own industry – such as Sean Penn and Roseanne Barr – in addition to the run-of-the-mill trolls who regularly mention him on Twitter.
He recently reacted to reports that Ben Affleck wanted a PBS story about his family history to omit one ancestor who owned slaves.
While it is obvious the vocal actor has no shortage of detractors, his refreshingly blunt attacks on leftist agitators is a welcome phenomenon among many conservatives.
Do you support this outspoken conservative or does his criticism go too far? Sound off in the comments section below.
