Writing on her blog Tuesday, Palin felt it was time to address “the elephant-in-the-room.”
“I guess you have seen by now that the wedding — that was supposed to happen last weekend — was called off,” she wrote. “I’m sure you’ve seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers.”
I know God’s plan is greater than anything else, and Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated. Thank you for all of your love and support.
Bristol received a fair amount of support on Twitter.
@BristolsBlog That is good. Tripp gets to be in Alaska with his family especially, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, especially uncle Trig .

@BristolsBlog Give the man another chance, and don’t let the media influence your decision.

@BristolsBlog I’m so sorry things didn’t work out. I’m sure it’s a hard time but trust the One who knows all bcuz He knows what is best.

The Palins and the Meyers still got together over Memorial Day weekend at the Meyers’ home in Kentucky. Bristol’s mother, former Gov. Sarah Palin, was seen raising her finger to the would-be groom. Bristol did not go to Kentucky, instead remaining in Alaska with her friend, Marina Lupas.
